Meet Sakda Thonglek: Future Teacher and Community Leader
Sakda Thonglek, our 2025 scholarship recipient from Takua Pa, Phang Nga, graduated from Takuapa-Senanukul School with an impressive 3.91 GPA. He’ll study Education at Thaksin University while continuing to represent his region in national volleyball competitions.
“I had decided not to continue my education due to financial difficulties,” Sakda shares. “This scholarship changed everything. I want to become a teacher in Thailand and help young people develop through sports. When I can, I’ll create opportunities for others too.”
Three Years of Supporting Khao Lak’s Future
Since launching in 2023, our scholarship program has supported three exceptional students from the local community:
Supawida Chupradit (2023 recipient)
– Electrical Engineering student at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi
– Currently maintaining a 3.93 GPA in her third year
– Gaining practical experience through engineering internships
Phutawan Pleekarn (2024 recipient)
– Law student at Walailak University
– Active in student administration and discipline committee
– Plans to provide free legal services in underserved communities
Sakda Thonglek (2025 recipient)
– Future Education student at Thaksin University
– Regional volleyball athlete
– Aspiring teacher and youth sports coach
How Our Scholarship Program Works
Each Devasom scholarship provides:
– Full tuition coverage for a bachelor’s degree
– Complete educational materials and supplies
– Freedom to choose any university and field of study
– No post-graduation work obligations
“We’re doing what we can to support education in our community,” explains Atirak, our Co-Founder and Managing Director. “These three young people will go on to serve Thailand in meaningful ways—teaching, building infrastructure, and providing legal services.”
Building Stronger Communities in Phang Nga
Our scholarship recipients represent the future of Khao Lak and surrounding areas. Sakda plans to develop youth through sports and education. Supawida brings technical expertise to regional development projects. Phutawan aims to make legal services accessible to all Thai citizens.
This education initiative is part of our broader commitment to the Khao Lak community. We also:
