June 8, Saturday: World Ocean Day
World Ocean Day is an annual celebration on 8th June to raise awareness about the ocean. On this year’s World Ocean Day, Devasom Khao Lak will host the art exhibition “RESONANCE” by Ecuadorian ceramic artist Pepe Adrian, from his project, Ceremonial Pacha, from 8th June until 4th August
Devasom has commissioned two unique ‘Ocean Whistle’ art pieces for Ocean Day — a Whale Shark and a Sea Turtle — created by the artist. These pieces will be auctioned during the exhibition, with proceeds (after expenses) donated to the Thai Whale Foundation.
The Grand Opening for World Ocean Day, on 8th June, will feature an ‘Ocean Whistle’ evening ceremony performed by Pepe Adrian, a special ceramic workshop, “Ocean Incense Burner”, and a screening of a documentary ‘Seagrass’

“RESONANCE” An Art Exhibition by Pepe Adrian x Ceremonial Pacha
Ecuadorian artist, Pepe Adrian, presents an exhibit from “Ceremonial Pacha”, a project aimed at preserving the ancient knowledge of pre-Columbian “water whistle vessels.” His contemporary sound instruments echo the craftsmanship of our ancestors, transferring their legacy to us.
“Resonance” is an exhibition exploring the unique sounds and history of ancient pre-Colombian clay ceramic instruments. This collection bridges past and present, offering a glimpse into the rich musical traditions that have “resonated” across generations. Experience the harmony and rhythm of these artifacts, each piece showcasing the artistry and cultural heritage of ancient South America. Through “Resonance,” we celebrate the enduring connection between sound, art, and history.

An enchanting live performance of “Water Whistle” by Pepe, accompanied by a captivating world music ensemble.
From the first weekend of June until the end of July, Devasom will host an art exhibition in Khao Lak, ‘RESONANCE’, by ceramic artist Pepe Adrian from his project, Ceremonial Pacha, celebrating World Ocean Day and raising awareness of the importance of protecting our oceans.
Devasom commissioned two special Ocean Day’s art pieces, in the shape of a Whale Shark and a Sea Turtle, created by the Ecuadorian artist of which will be up for auction during the art exhibition. All income after expenses will be donated to Thai Whale Foundation.
