Mixed Media Artist – Aimi Kaiya – Joins Devasom Khao Lak for the Artist in Residence Program to Celebrate Community, Culture, and Creativity.
Khao Lak, Thailand – June 2025 – Devasom Khao Lak, a luxury beachfront resort known for its deep connection to cultural heritage and hospitality, proudly announces the fourth instalment in the Devasom Artist in Residence Program, a month-long initiative reaffirming the resort’s commitment to supporting the local arts and fostering meaningful engagement with the community.
Until June 30th, 2025, Aimi Kaiya an acclaimed mixed-media contemporary artist, will take up residence at Devasom Khao Lak. Recognised for her emotive and immersive works on paper and canvas, Aimi brings a distinctive voice to the Thai contemporary art scene, working with mediums such as acrylics, oil paints, oil sticks, charcoal, and pastels. Her artwork ‘Romance in Venice’ was selected for the Chianciano Biennale 2022 and is now part of the permanent collection of the Chianciano Art Museum and she also exhibited works at the 2023 London Art Biennale.
Focusing on the theme of “Mindful Presence”, the program invites guests and local participants alike to slow down, reconnect with their inner selves, and engage with the world through art. Drawing inspiration from the resort’s serene natural surroundings and the cultural heritage of Phang-Nga, the initiative underscores Devasom’s dedication to preserving local identity while nurturing creativity and well-being.

- Mindful Art Workshops – “Pause & Paint”
Held at the resort’s tranquil Devasom Library, these guided sessions invite participants to embrace the therapeutic power of artistic expression.

2. Community Art Workshop – “Nature, Lines, and the Children”
In collaboration with the Wat Khom Niya Khet School, this enriching outreach program engages local school children in a creative exploration of nature, imagination, and speech. With the slogan: ‘Children are the foundation to build a balanced and peaceful world’.

The residency will culminate in a curated exhibition of artworks created during the program, accompanied by a personal talk from the artist, offering insight into her creative journey and the themes explored throughout her stay.
