Exciting Things to Do in Hua Hin After the Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic has effectively put a stop on almost all of our travel plans. According to some experts, it may take quite a while for things to return to how they were pre-crisis, but that doesn’t mean you can’t daydream and plan things you want to after this whole thing is over. And if your plan is visiting Hua Hin, you’ll want to carefully plan your itinerary as the place offers so many fun things you can try, especially if you’re visiting for the first time.

Hua Hin is a coastal town with a city-like ambiance where you can enjoy a variety of great outdoor activities. Ideal for those who want adventure and relaxation all at the same time, Hua Hin also boasts long stretches of white sand beaches, calm warm waters, and mountain ranges with unbelievable views. And given that it’s just 200km south-west of the capital, it’s become a hotspot for Bangkok residents, too.

Here are some of the things you can do at Hua Hin after the crisis abates:

Go on a hike up Khao Hin Lek Fai

An ideal activity for thrill-seekers, going on a hike up Khao Hin Lek Fai can fulfill your yearning for adventure. It is only about a 5km walk from the railway station, and the terrain is fairly flat until you reach the last kilometer. It should be a relatively easy hike that takes less than an hour if you’re used to it, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t fun.

When you go north on Prapokklao Road, you should keep going until you reach Chomsin Road. Turn left, cross past the railway tracks, and continue your hike west on Khao Hin Lek Fai Road. You will then spot a few convenience stores where you can buy water and snacks. Afterward, you’ll pass temples and notice that the road will start to steepen. It is the part where you’ll come across monkeys as monks tend to leave ripe bananas for them. You should then turn left, and continue hiking up a winding road until you get to the park.

Watch the sunset from Khao Hin Lek Fai Viewpoint

Looking for something more relaxing? Enjoy the sunset from Khao Hin Lek Fai, which offers awe-inspiring views of the city, sea, and surrounding mountains. It’s ideal to come here in the late afternoon to witness the sun go down. When you make the trip to this destination, you’ll get the chance to see all of Hua Hin beach and all the way to Khao Takiab and beyond. You’ll also get to choose from six different viewpoints, with the number one being considered the best as it offers the best unobstructed views.

Try paramotor along the beach

If you want an activity that is a bit more extreme, you can try paramotor. It’s your chance to appreciate the natural beauty of Hua Hin straight from the sky. There are businesses around that offer tourists paramotoring packages that you may want to check out. Usually, the pick up is in the early morning, where you’ll be driven to the Pranburi countryside. You’ll be taken to an airstrip at a patchy grass field.

Whether you want to relax or go on an adventure, Hua Hin has just the activity for you. Take into consideration our tips above for a fun vacation once the pandemic is over!
