What’s happening in Hua Hin

Top 5 great attractions near Devasom Hua Hin Resort

There are many things to do and to see when you come to stay at Devasom Hua Hin Resort, apart from relaxing by our horizon-edged pool, indulging yourself with one of our special treats, in-room massage, or dining delicious Thai and western delicacies at Deva Bistro, you can visit local attractions easily from our resort. Here we listed top 5 great attractions that we recommend.

Maruekathaiyawan Palace

Maruekathaiyawan Palace is the Thai-Victorian style summer seaside palace that was designed by an Italian architect and built with golden teak during the reign of King Rama VI. The palace is embraced with lots of verandas, latticework, and presents the high ceilings to keep the structure cool during summer.

Opening hours: 8am – 4pm.
Location: 9km south of Cha-Am at the Camp Rama VI military compound

Cicada Market

This open-air weekend only market brings together Hua Hin’s artistic talents. The market is all about art, handmade crafts, great local food and good times. Besides the crafts market, you’ll also find an art gallery, live music and beer garden.

Opening hours: only on weekend evenings
Location: on Phetkasem Road, halfway between Hua Hin town and Khao Takiab.

Hua Hin Night Market

The night market is situated in the Hua Hin center, between Petkasem Road and the railway line. From 6:30pm onwards, traders line the street with their stalls selling various apparel, crafts, art as well as affordable and delicious food – generally what you might expect from a Thai market. Unlike other night markets, Hua Hin does have a fantastic selection of seafood restaurants that line the road drawing a lot of attention from visitors.

Opening hours: 6 – 11pm (best to go after 7pm)
Location: Petchkasem Road

Phraya Nakhon Cave

If you think about Hua Hin as just a relaxing beach town, you may need to rethink and find a new definition after visiting this magnificent Phraya Nakhon Cave. This cave is one of the most mystical and mysterious landmarks of Thailand but only a few travelers get a chance to see it. The simple reason is that this gold and green pavilion is hidden inside a far reach cave and only a small group of devoted visitors will do the work to visit it. Those who do are rewarded with a stunning vision that look like it’s straight out of a Thai period movie!

Opening hour: 8am – 5pm
Location: Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, 45 minutes drive south of Hua Hin. Private full-day tour is available.

Hua Hin Railway Station

The origin of Hua Hin as a royal seaside getaway town might not be completed without speaking of this historic railway station. In the old days, there was no road access to this tranquil beach town, and train travel was such a new and pleasant alternative way to get from Bangkok to Hua Hin instead of hours of travelling by boat. This train station was built during the reign of King Rama VI together with its attractive adjacent royal waiting room. With brightly painted wooden buildings and the design that infused a ‘Victorian’ feel to it, this becomes the favorite tourist spot that is worth adding into Instagram!

Opening hours: 7am – 11pm
Location: Western end of Damnernkasem Road, only a short distance from the town center of Hua Hin
